Privacy Policy – SyncTimer
Last updated: June 7, 2025
1. Introduction
SyncTimer (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how SyncTimer (“the App”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our iOS application for precise, synchronized timers.
2. Information We Collect
Local Device Data
Elapsed Time & Events: timer counts, scheduled “stop,” “cue,” and “restart” events are maintained in-memory and (when syncing) broadcast point-to-point over Bluetooth LE, TCP/IP, or Bonjour.
Network Configuration: Optional user-entered IP address and port numbers purely for peer-to-peer synchronization.
Bluetooth State: The App requests CoreBluetooth permission once; we monitor only the on/off state of the device’s Bluetooth radio to manage connectivity.
Crash Logs & Diagnostics (Optional)
If you opt in via iOS’s standard crash-reporting settings, anonymized crash logs may be sent to Apple for diagnostic purposes. We do not collect or transmit any personal identifiers in these logs.
3. How We Use Your Data
Core Functionality: All timer data (counts, events, synchronization messages) remain on your device or are transmitted directly between devices for real-time syncing.
Diagnostics: Crash logs help us identify and remedy stability issues. You may disable this at any time in your device settings.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties.
Peer-to-Peer Sync: When you choose to sync, your timer state and events are sent only to devices you explicitly pair via Bluetooth or whose IP you specify.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of users.
5. Data Security
In-Memory Storage: All timer and event data are stored in volatile memory and are purged when the App is closed or reset.
Encrypted Transport:
Bluetooth LE: Uses the standard BLE security model.
TCP/IP: We strongly recommend running over a secure, trusted Wi-Fi network.
Bonjour: Local LAN discovery only; no data is exposed beyond your network.
Network Permissions: We do not write any persistent files containing your IP or sync history.
6. Children’s Privacy
SyncTimer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us to request deletion.
7. Your Choices
Bluetooth Permission: You may revoke Bluetooth access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy → Bluetooth.
Crash Reporting: Disable in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements.
Reset All Settings: From within the App’s Preferences, tap Reset All Settings to Defaults to clear any stored IP/port, theme, or confirmation settings.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our App or legal requirements. If material changes occur, we will revise the “Last updated” date and, where feasible, notify you via an in-App message.
